There are no prerequisites required for this course. Year 12 or equivalent (Productivity Places Program Accepted)

Duration:

The duration of this qualification is 8 weeks 200 contact hours full time plus 12 weeks 300 work-placement hours  20 weeks full time

Career Path:

This qualification is at AQF Level 3 (Certificate III).

At this level, students are provided with a moderate level qualification assisting the student's preparation for an autonomous and supervisory role within the workplace.  At AQF level three, students are provided with a broad range of skills enabling them to perform a variety of tasks and roles.

The key clients for this qualification are school leavers seeking to enter the workforce in the Children's Services  arena, and mothers seeking to re-enter the workforce in a children's services role, or other individuals simply seeking to change into a career in Children's Services and to work with local communities in the provision of services such as: Child Care Assistant, Family Day Carer, Nanny, Out of School Hours Care Assistant*, Recreation Assistant*, Unqualified Child Care Worker, (* Depending on Jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions require CHC40402 Certificate lV in Out of School Hours Care)

Alternatively, this qualification could be used by small, medium and large children's services enterprises seeking to re-educate or train existing staff, or induct newcomers. Small, medium, large, enterprises Unemployed workers, School leavers and those wishing to gain entry to a different industry sector
