Entry Requirements and Prerequisites:

There are 13 Prerequisite Units required for this course. Entry level year 12 schooling or equivalent

Duration:

The duration of this qualification with no pre-requisites is 8 weeks 200 contact hours full time and with pre-requisites 14 weeks 350 contact hours full time plus 12 weeks 300 work-placement hours

Career Path:

This qualification is at AQF Level 5 (Diploma).

Diplomas assist students to develop high-level technical or management skills and in some cases; may offer credit to some university programs.  Diplomas may assist in upgrading your work skills or assist you to enter or re-enter the workforce at a more qualified level.

The key clients for this qualification is for workers who are responsible for developing and evaluating the program and responsible for the supervision of other staff including volunteers and in most States it is the highest qualification required at director or service manager level.

Workers at this level are required to have an understanding of Indigenous culture and history and able to work with local communities in the provision of services such as: Child Care Worker-Qualified, Team Leader, Group Leader, Program Leader, Service Manager or Service Director.

Alternatively, this qualification could be used by small, medium and large children's services enterprises seeking to re-educate upgrade or train existing staff for promotion and expansion of current Children's Services. Small, medium, large, children's services enterprises. Children's Services  workers requiring higher qualifications Experienced current workers in the Children's Services industry desiring a managerial capacity.
