Entry Requirements and Prerequisites:
There are no prerequisites required for this course. Entry level year 12 or equivalent.

IELTS English level 5 English Language Central English Proficiency Course provides pathway.
Duration:
The duration of this qualification is 15 weeks includes 9 weeks work-placement full time.
Career Path:
This qualification is at AQF Level 3 (Certificate III).
At this level, students are provided with a moderate level qualification assisting the student's preparation for an autonomous and supervisory role within the workplace. At AQF level three, students are provided with a broad range of skills enabling them to perform a variety of tasks and roles.
Applicable for small to large global organisations in Aged Care Work, Key human resource requirement for all Aged Care Work organisations, Opportunities for global Aged Care and community services application, Planned multiple Task changes in career direction with transfer skills.
Occupations may include: Assistant in Nursing, Support Worker, Carer, Personal Care Assistant, Home Care Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Field Officer, Community Support Worker, Accommodation Support Worker, In Home Respite Worker, Personal Care Worker, Community Care Worker, Disability Service Officer, (in some jurisdictions), Community House Worker.
The key clients for this qualification are workers in this occupational group primarily in residential facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines and service plans. These workers carry out activities related to the maintenance of an individual's personal care and/or other activities of living. These workers report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers. Workers at this level are required to have an understanding of Indigenous culture and history and to work with local communities in the provision of service.
Alternatively, this qualification could be used by small, medium and large aged care services enterprises seeking to re-educate or train existing staff, or induct newcomers.
This qualification assists in advancing individuals with the appropriate experience to an autonomous or supervisory role within their current career.
