Career Path

Teaching in Vocational Education may attract points towards permanent migration.

In order to facilitate and/or assess under the Australian Quality Training Framework you are required to hold TAA40104: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or TAA50104: Diploma of Training and Assessment.

Those students who are enrolling in TAA50104 after having completed TAA40104 should be able to demonstrate competency in the pre-requisite units; consequently, they may not need to be re-examined. Recognition of Prior Learning is available upon request.

The pre-requisites for this qualification are the core units of TAA40104.  Students who have not completed TAA40104 or who can not demonstrate its equivalent competency will be required to complete the pre-requisite units outlined below.

Students who complete this course and can apply to teach for the Satellite College anywhere in the world.

Minimum 80% class attendance required

On the Monday of each week of a course, the College Director monitors all overseas student attendance.

When an overseas student reaches less than a possible 80% of course attendance, the College Director immediately informs the Department of Immigration, via PRISMS, of a student's failure to meet attendance requirements. A copy of the student's file is made available for the Department. In the event that the less than 80% attendance results from illness supported by a medical certificate, the Department of Immigration is informed that this is the reason for non-attendance.
