College Profile
Since 1996 Robbie has been involved with both the writing and development of accredited business courses. In order to advance these projects Robbie established the Robbie Elsom Satellite College on 20 June 1996. After inception, Robbie completed writing two nationally accredited business management courses including: 6771 - Business Management and Administrative Skills, and; 7466 - Business Management for the Construction Industry.
Prior to establishing the Satellite College, Robbie worked as a specialist business analyst for small to medium sized organisations. During this role, Robbie analysed the operational, marketing and financial operations of each business and provided both general advice as to their overall direction, and specific advice in terms of its internal administration and management.
Robbie prides himself on being able to provide information in a simplified form and that which is specific to the individual by whom it is sort. This characteristic was applied to all advice which Robbie gave during his career as a business analyst.
The market responded enthusiastically to Robbie's simplistic and practical approach, but it demanded more. To satisfy this demand, Robbie began publishing information and developing training programs. The information published was designed to assist business managers and proprietors. The Business Management Training Programs Robbie developed proved to be very popular and effective for many organisations including Corporate Business, Small Business and Non-Profit Incorporated Associations.
In 2003, Robbie, through his College began delivery of qualifications at the Advanced Diploma level - AQF level 6; the highest qualification obtainable in the Vocational Education sector. This was an important step for the College, as many courses at this level provide its students with articulation into university studies.
In January 2004, Robbie opened the Gold Coast campus at Southport, located right on the picturesque Surfers Paradise beach and January 2007 the Satellite College opened in Brisbane implementing a streamlined national enrolment system. This system incorporates a National telephone numbers 0409786386 and 0448185551 national facsimile 0417862078 and 0488506163 which epitomises Robbie and Hanjia's simple yet extraordinarily effective manner.
In order to satisfy the ongoing demand from its students wanting to continue their business education; in 2006 the Satellite College added to its scope of registration an additional 38 Business Qualifications ranging from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma and 2007 has increased the English School with new Qualifications and further expansion of courses and international campuses in Changsha, Hunan Province China, headed by Wang Zong Wen.
To further the students ability to learn English quickly Robbie and Hanjia expanded the English school and opened English Language Central to focus on specific English for International Students, with classes in Academic Writing, IELTS, Medical English, Legal English, Academic English and general conversation English to enhance career prospects and migration for International Students.
The Satellite College and English Language Central constantly reviews its courses to ensure that they are current and that they provide its students with practical industry skills.
